I normally do a few Human Japanese chapters and then review the vocab/example sentences in memrise which has helped me retain a lot of the info. I've found it worthwhile for working the speech muscles in between times I get to speak with native Japanese speakers. Human Japanese Basic and Intermediate were more than worth the money for me, but I did supplement both with the relevant memrise courses to keep up with the vocab.
